Forget about how much calories an egg has! You're going to love these anyway.
Heaven 'n Eggs
I don't know what was with me but some time in December 2005, I went inside the newly-opened Heaven 'n Eggs in Market! Market! (The Fort), got a table, and asked for their menu. I was the only one dining alone at the resto that night but I was hungry and I guess I was really in the mood to have some food-adventure to care about being alone.
I had their Heaven's Waffles My Four Season (fruit toppings). It was a feast for my tummy as they have large servings on waffles. Then I had my cup of hot tea. I left the restaurant that night with a heavy stomach (*burrrpp*) and a promise to myself that I will go back with someone next time. FYI: Their Market! Market! branch has closed down.
I really wanted to try their other dishes but I didn't have anyone to grab (it wasn't a practical option for a regular meal). So in one of our get-togethers with some friends, when I had the privilege to choose where to eat, I chose Heaven 'n Eggs (and thank God my friends were willing to try).
We had Grilled Chicken Carribean Fiesta Salad, T-Bone Steak Platter, Chicken Alfredo Pasta, and Manila Spareribs. Their fresh kiwi-juice was not available so we opted for some fresh-orange juice, mango juice, and soda.
Note to self: pasta is not their specialty (so it was acceptable that their Chicken Alfredo Pasta tastes regular for me). The salad was okey (it comes with pita bread). And thumbs up to their T-Bone Steak Platter and their Manila Spareribs.
Hmmm.. what's so heavenly with them? Maybe I should go back so I could find out (some more).
and here's another one...
I Have 2 Eggs
If you want to try different style for your eggs, this is one place I would suggest that you go to. They're located at 238 Sct. Bayoran cor. Tomas Morato, Quezon City. Yup! I could go as far as that for a good bite and a fun company on a Friday night.
It was our first time to visit the restaurant last night. My friend heard a good review about the place, so from Makati (never mind the traffic), we went there for dinner.
My friend had the Marinated Sirloin Tapa (she chose spicy) with her choice of 2 Sunny side up eggs (fried over easy). Tried the tapa and I could say, it's one of the best tapa I've ever tasted in my whole life (so far)-- to think I am not really into spicy foods.
Anyway, I had their House Tapa Salad (lettuce served with tapa, shaved almond, and fresh mango with your choice of oriental or herb and cheese dressing). It was good. Top it with lots of parmesan cheese then it's great! After that I ordered their Corned Beef Pandesal (their homemade cornedbeef, served with tomato, lettuce trapped in hot pandesal) that comes in 2 eggs and french fries. For my choice of eggs, I had their Poached egg (cooked in simmering water with salt and vinegar) and the usual Scrambled egg. Well, I liked the eggs, but the pandesal that they used doesn't really tastes good with the corned beef, tomato and lettuce. I would prefer the pandesal from Pan de Manila or Pan de Pugon. But of course, that wouldn't ruin my appetite.
Next time, I will try the variety of Omelet that they have (choice of tomato, onion, and bell pepper topping) with their add ons (any combination of two toppings): cheese, bacon, leeks, ham, mushroom or spinach. Yummy!
Indeed they were EGGScellent!
