How do you teach a child not to throw things? |

Lately, M is throwing his car toys, his ATV Wheels (toys, of course), his fire truck, his books, his cup of water, or anything that he is holding. I noticed he does that when he doesn't want them anymore or when he's drinking from his cup and he's had enough. I find myself desperate sometimes. I have no idea how to teach him how to just put his stuff nicely down on the table or just hand them to me. I tried hiding his toys after he has thrown it (telling him he won't see them again because he's not nice to them) but I am not sure it worked (or maybe I should stick to it longer). Sometimes I just let him sit down and give him no attention-- when he goes near me (he does when he realizes I am ignoring him), I talk to him like an adult, tell him that he is a good boy and good boys doesn't throw stuff. I am not sure which is working but each time, I pray that he's listening and that he could really understand what I am saying.
If you know some tricks, please let me know.
