The humidity here in East coast drops when fall and winter come. One may suffer from dry skin, noses, and throats; not to mention, cracked fingertips (ouch! I have that problem now.); and of course, colds. In the past, I would usually wake up with a sore throat and a dry (and sometimes with a hint of bloody-) nose. That was until I was introduced to humidifiers. I swore never to live without it during the cold season, ever again. Evaporative humidifier is also a good gift for the first-time parents (we're waiting for some birth announcements really soon) and a great gift for housewarmings, too. Healthy air is a must-have for everyone. On September 11, 2010. We bought a Vornado Evaporative Humidifier at Bed Bath & Beyond. It does what it does-- humidifies, all right. But after a few weeks of using it, we found it leaking and we are now unable to use it. We can't fill-up the water reservoir. Point taken: most of the humidifiers that we have in the market leaks because their lids are at the bottom. But I don't believe the base of this humidifier is stable for a thick-carpeted floor. One slight move or even a soft tap gave us one wet and messy carpet. I wish they made the base higher. Anyway, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. It costs us around $60. Now we're settling to the cheaper Vicks vaporizer. The lid is on top. We don't have to worry about leakage. And did I say it's cheap? |
