It did not really surprise me when I was informed that this one restaurant that I had a (web) project with last year, has a new owner. Well, I bet a lot of retail franchises, too, are being tested in this period of economic difficulty. Oh well, I am not to utter a meaningless confusion of words here about the recession but I can't deny it to myself nor to anyone else that I am emotionally battered by this crisis. I may not be complaining and I may seem unmoved for some, but I hope they would stop sending me letters of regret soon. Not because it's crushing my spirit but because I feel odd that I don't feel anything at all. For me, that is alarming. But shouldn't we be more alarmed if we started worrying? God says: 25 "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?" ( Matthew 6:25-27) Then no, you cannot make me worry. |
