Well Fed.

Cat Cookies for People, the canister says. We had it after dinner last night. Grandma and I fed Sheba as well.

"What part do you want Sheba? The head or the tail?" I asked the German Shepherd dog.
Grandma gave her the whole thing instead. They're tiny cookies, anyway.
"Grandma, now I know why Mimi doesn't like Sheba," I was referring to their white cat, Mimi.
"And now we know why Sheba is overweight," Miss M said. She was trying to tell Grandma that she's already fed Sheba too much cookies.

"Help yourself around here, all right? If you need anything, if you want to eat, just take whatever you like..." Miss M kept on reminding me.

The food here is a treat. It is like I am always eating in some posh restaurant.

"Wow! I don't feel like ruining your creation!" I told Miss M last night when she set down our plates on the table. If I had my camera, I would have taken a photo first before picking on my salad. It has lettuce, black olives, strawberries, and plums dressed with lots of cottage cheese and topped with a tiny leaf which name I forgot. Elegant! She and grandma had it with their homemade iced tea with mint leaves from their own backyard and I had mine with my usual hot green tea (and they have all kinds of tea, too).

They don't serve rice here every day (lucky me!). In fact, in my five days of stay here, we only had it once.

Bagel or rye bread for me in the morning. Cold-cut sandwiches for lunch usually. Heavy part comes at dinner time (except for last night's salad). Potatoes, corn, chicken, homemade meat loaf, complete with dessert that we share with Sheba, of course. Grandma lets Sheba finish her ice cream every time. I am cutting down on dessert soon.

I haven't touched my oatmeal since I got here. It's not a problem though. I am having all the fiber that I want from greens and fruits, and of course, the nutrition that I need from every meal. I just had to go easy with the cheese. If you don't know yet, I am a cheese-monster.

Yesterday I just grabbed a peach for lunch. I felt like I haven't burnt any calories since day one here. But after the peach, came Chel's offer-- chewy chocolate cookies that she baked. How can I resist?

Tonight they had a little family gathering. There were salad with lettuce from their backyard, cherry tomatoes, carrots, olives, some kebabs, and mushrooms. Desserts were blueberry pie and chocolate pie, which they baked last night. Choose your own ice cream to top your pie. From chocolate to coffee, mango or vanilla. Next to cheese ice cream, for me it's vanilla.

"Thank you for your sweetness and for being with us," Miss M told me today. Oh! How I wanted to say, "No, Thank YOU for having me here."

I am off tomorrow and the next day, too. I wanted to stay but I need to hit home.
