Uh-oh! I'm Gonna Sue!
Tuesday, 21 April 2009

That was a comment made by one of the passengers during my train ride on Friday night when some NJ Transit personnel asked every passenger bound to Metuchen Rail Station to walk to the first car because there has been some platform issues on the said stop. So off, we walked.

"Man! My wife is having our baby! You're making a delay! I'm gonna sue! I'm tellin' yah!" he repeated.

Everything here have legal issues, I told myself (I remember reading something about Mesothelioma lawyers). And the man's comment made me a little uncomfortable thinking that he might be serious and he might be in a bad mood.

"Ma'am, how about you?" he asked the lady behind me. Then I know that he was just kidding.
"Oh, well... I'm with ya'h! I am backing you up!" she said laughing.

We continued to walk to the first car and saw what was really happening. The regular platform is being fixed. We have to be guided on our step going off the the first car because the temporary platform was kind of odd. Besides it was already dark, it was around ten in the evening already. I think we walked through a platform that hasn't been used for a long while. Then the personnel took out some keys and opened an old wooden gate with huge rusty chains so we can go out and the people boarding can get on the train.

"It's like we're inside an old train station, eh?!" I heard an old lady commented. I was smiling as everyone was saying something funny about the situation.

"Man! That was weird!" the guy who said that he's suing added when he was guided through the old wooden gate.

I say, that was kewl!
