Tithe - (Noun) one tenth of one's (annual) income or produce paid to the church as a tax. [thefreedictionary.com] "Thank you Lord for allowing me to use the 9/10 of Your blessing."Reflecting deeply on how my life was for the past couple of months, I was overwhelmed that I have survived (and still surviving). You see, I came to the U.S. hoping I'd have a job right away. I was confident that I'd survive with only $35 and some quarters in my wallet. Guess what? It's been 5 months since I got here. Still without a job but with more than $35 in my savings/checking and PayPal account now. I still couldn't afford a lot of things but at least, if I have to, I could (still) travel to Manhattan or Jersey City and back to South Plainfield. And I could buy most of my personal needs now although most of the time (sometimes I am weak, eh! hehe), I still have to think twice or thrice if I'd buy myself a bagel or a pretzel or just wait until I am home to fort off my hunger. $25 or $10 or even $5 is a big deal for me. Going out or coming in. Money is all going out lately but that is not the point. God is serious in giving me a hundred percent of His blessings. 90% is still too much but all He's asking is 10% and He didn't have to ask. Shame on me! Again I say, "Thank you Lord for allowing me to use the 9/10 of Your blessing." |
