Page 1 of 2 A dear couple has done something for me that could change my life forever...
Literally, they have paid $5000 to process an H1B visa petition to the U.S. for me. Why me? I have no idea. I really can't remember anything that I did to anyone that is worth that much. The only answer I could give is that they are nice, blessed, and kind-hearted people. And I believe good people doesn't really need a reason to be kind to anyone. However, I am humbled, and will always be grateful for the good deed that they have done for me. I wish I could say more than a million "Thank You".
I cannot believe that it was a green light until the emails regarding the filing of the H1B visa petition started in February. I was asked to submit some requirements to the lawyer-- PDF files of my passport, diploma, transcript of records, and resume. And when I did, I was told that out of their 8 entries, I was in top 3. That gave me a boost that only lasted until I have learned the facts on how the processing would go. It will be a lottery. A draw not just among us-- the 8 entries.
Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) has allocated a quota of 65 thousand for this year. I repeat-- thousand, not just among a hundred.
20 thousand was reserved for candidates with Master's or PhD degrees. 45 thousand was reserved for normal applicants, where I, with a Bachelor's degree, belonged. INS received 167 thousand applicants. 33 thousand entries with Master's and/or PhD's. Meaning, 134 thousand filled in the normal application's spot. Again, only 45 thousand will be picked from the latter number.
The lawyer have submitted 250 candidates including me. What is the possibility that my name would be drawn out from the huge fish bowl filled with 134 thousand other names? Only God knows. Only God knew.
I asked everyone to storm the Heavens with prayers for me on the day of the draw, which was postponed for another week. I believe in the power of prayers and of quantity hence we have those we call The Prayer Warriors.
On April 23, at 2am, I received an SMS from the U.S.: "You are in!!!..."
I decided to get up and check my email to find out some more detail. Only 2 were accepted from the lawyer's 250 candidates and I was one of the two.
It is not final yet as I still have to prepare and go through an interview and some more procedures. But I will not wait for the end to shout and share the good things and the blessings that I have been receiving now. I will not delay my praises and my gratitude.
True. I was amazed on how God is working in my life. True. God is awesome. God is good and remarkably great in everything.
I can never repay but I can always say THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart.
May my (traffic) life be a living testimonial of God's power and might. It's about time that I share every instance of His amazing grace.
Please pray for and pray with me some more. This is but another ride and another journey.
