I wish my friends could buy a property now so they could have a house to put their "home" in (and probably enjoy what mobile homes could offer). Well, they're still waiting. And searching like it is a task now. Ahh. Tasks. We all have one too many. Grandma asked the sitter, many times, what PCT stands for. The sitter said it's Patient Care Technician. Their basic duties include cleaning, turning, moving, feeding/watering a patient, and helping the patient go to and from a bathroom or the commode. In the hospital, a sitter should never interfere as they have the insurance-thing. So this sitter tried to let the responsible people do their jobs. Then Grandma did her thing #2 on the commode. The sitter asked for the PCT. The PCT asked the sitter, "Why? Don't you know how to clean her up?" "I do and I can help you if you want," the sitter replied, trying to control herself. The PCT ignored her and turned to Grandma, "Stand up so YOU can clean your back." The PCT just held Grandma on her elbow and let Grandma clean herself. The PCT motioned Grandma to sit back on her bed. "Am I all right? Am I dry and clean now?" Grandma asks the sitter with a pleading look. The sitter heaved a sigh. "You are all right, Grandma. But let me check your back." Sigh. We do not need to like every person that we meet in this life. But we are asked to love them and that's a fact. To that PCT, I can only heave a sigh. |
