While the other others are talking about colon cancer and trying to learn more colon cleansers (most of the time, they just talk non-sense-- at least for me), he lets the kids play with his guitar after our music class. He'd put it down on the floor and let the kids strum on it; even sit on it. I cringe with the thought that it might break. He worries about the end of the strings on the tuning side. Of course they are sharp. He asked us if we have any idea what he can put on the tip of the strings. I knew the solution right away; but before I can speak up, another Asian woman, a mom, spoke. She suggested to put a wax on them-- dental wax, that's what she said. She told the Guitar Man that she plays the guitar, too. I kept my idea to myself. I am practical and cheap; I don't even have an idea what the girl was talking about. The Guitar Man said he'd try the wax-thing. The next class, the tip of the strings were still bare. I couldn't keep my idea to myself any longer. For me, mine was more brilliant; did I say, cheaper? After that class, while getting ready to leave the club, I told the Guitar Man he could use a glue-gun for the tips. They are far more stronger than wax; did I say cheap? He said he doesn't have a glue gun. I offered to bring one the next class; he said he'd try the wax. Fine. That was January. Now it's March. The tip of the strings are coated... with NOTHING. |
