Sad to say that as of this posting, my back hasn't fully recovered yet. I tried taking the bus and the subway yesterday and walked a few miles in Queens but it made a little part of my back swell again. The hot pack has helped during the night. Although I cannot stand or sit for longer than an hour (I have to rest my back and stretch by lying on my back with my legs bended to make my back straighter and flat on my stomach with my arms extended above my head), it's easier to get up from the bed now, I can move a little faster than the past few days and I can skip the pain reliever medicine sometimes (only if I can tolerate the pain). And no, I cannot carry anything heavier than GreenApple yet and ascending and descending the stairs could still be risky for me. I am still hesitant to walk sideways and sitting on a soft couch is a no-no. Same as sitting with my knees higher or lower than my hips (everything should be leveled). If you've ever gone through a situation when you thought you'd be crippled because of too much pain, you'd take these things seriously, too. Believe me. They offered to send me to the hospital, see if I could get an MRI but I refused. How much is a MRI scan? I got through this situation a few years ago without it, I am praying this is just the same as before, but this time, I swear, never to stop the routine for my back ever again. So help me, God. On the lighter side, I can move a little in the kitchen now and this weekend I might get a therapy (that is if I have the courage to have my back touched). |
