It is a known fact that I am being limited to spending a little to nothing at all for myself (although, my paying taxes, I know, is for my own future). That does not mean I cannot dream of having things way beyond my budget. I have my wish list, too (in other list, I have small things like wire covers). And oftentimes than not, I choose the top line of a gadget, if not the one that has a very good review. I always go for the high-quality ones, that is if I can afford it. [Image from Best Buy] Yesterday, I got to cross out one of the items in my list-- the printer. I had Canon PIXMA MG8120 Network-Ready Wireless All-In-One Printer sitting in my list for quite a few months now. I like it because of it's ability to scan and print from 35mm slides and strips of film and its promise to print high-quality photos. It's been a few years since I have been looking for a scanner for films. Contrary to what some people think that films are going to be obsolete soon, they are not (digital cameras may offer more convenience than film-cameras but the quality of films may not-- maybe for a long time-- be equaled by the digital ones.). And I like it because it has very good reviews. And since I was in need of a good printer this week for the cards that I am making and printing it outside costs too much, not to mention, it would take a lot of time, C thought of getting us a printer (I wasn't sure if he knows about my wish list). I won't be the one buying it so I thought any cheap printer will do. I thought of how much it'll cost him, too, getting the inks for it. So yeah, I was willing to accept anything less than what I want. We went to Best Buy to shop. Canon PIXMA MG8120 was not on display; I even thought that they don't have it. I was ready to settle for the Canon PIXMA MP6120; then I saw two boxes under it that says, Canon PIXMA MG8120. I got excited. Question is, how much would it cost. C asked me what I want but told him I could settle for the cheaper one. MP6120 is fifty-dollar cheaper than the MG8120. He asked me again what I want. I told him the truth that Canon PIXMA MG8120 is actually in my wish list. He got me Canon PIXMA MG8120 and bought 6 inks that are needed for the printer. Sweet! Who says beggars can't be choosers? You know what's sweeter? He carried the heavy stuff from the shop to the bus stop; and home. I was so excited that I almost forgot about the time-- time to feed both of us! Hah! I am one lucky beggar. Bless C, Dear Lord. |
