My PayPal Works, So Does Mr. Muscle!
Wednesday, 12 March 2008
My friends and I were discussing about my PayPal account over pizza (then over coffee and tea) on Friday night. My brother, who is based in NJ, applied for my PayPal account some time in September last year, since I was told that I cannot apply for one because I do not have a US bank account (PayPal Philippines is not yet available then). All I gave him was the basic info like my email address, my full name, address, and phone number and after a week or two, my PayPal was up. Yes, that was easy. After that I added my Philippine bank accounts-- one credit card, which I had to verify for $1.95, and wait for my 4-digit Expanded Use Number, and one debit card (Electronic Master Card).

I haven't asked my brother what, exactly, were  required from him to apply in my behalf. When I checked my PayPal account info and my profile, there's no info about him nor anything that would link that it was set up by a person who is based in the U.S.. That's why I wasn't sure if my account was successfully set up. And when Kaje told me how she set up her account when she was in the U.S., I panicked.

Is my account valid?

I was actually worried that I might not be able to use my PayPal. I haven't tried purchasing anything online and no one has tried sending me a donation via PayPal...

... until the $10-worth test came.

Tito JC read my plead for a dollar-test (thanks Tito JC) and today, PayPal emailed me a notice that I just got $10 in my account, which after clicking the accept-button, showed that I actually have $9.16 (there was a transaction fee of $0.84). Now I know I have to ask $2 instead of $1. *teeehhee*

And now, all I need to worry about is how I'd transfer that to my debit card. But then I have yet to raise the value of my account. Gotta ask Kuya for a weekly allowance. LOL!

oh... and Mr. Muscle? He worked on my old PC today making it desirable for its next user. I was so right in suggesting it to an old lady at the mall one time. I was confident Mr. Muscle won't let me down.

I was in the restroom in Glorietta when I overheard an old lady asking the girl cleaning the toilets on what product they were using to clean the bowls and the tiles. The girl said she has no idea what brand she was using because it comes in a bottle with no brand name except that she knew it is for industrial use, of course. So I decided to butt-in (which, I don't usually do with strangers) and told them how Mr. Muscle could work wonders on molds and it could turn a used-to-be white-now-yellowish surface back to its original color (or at least, in the case of my more-than-10-year-old monitor, to light yellow).

I am proud of Mr. Muscle. Tongue out
