This is a good update on my back. I can now tolerate prolonged sitting and standing and I can now travel via buses and trains (as long as my knees are in good level and my back is not forced to get bended forward or back). I can now sit on the floor and get up with little help from any object to lean on. I still have little pain. I don't sit on couches as I get the tendency to slouch. I cannot do some movements that would require me to twist or turn (in short, I move like a log) and I cannot carry anything heavier than 6 or 7 pounds (I can carry the cat, Bob, with ease, but I cannot carry Agatha, coz she's heavier and bulkier than Bob). I am still wearing my back support and I am still taking pain reliever whenever I feel like I would need one. I still sleep with the heated pad on my lower back, too. I cannot stay in bed the whole day else I would lose more strength. The body has to move, like a machine, I have to use it. So I do tasks now like cooking, setting the table, and washing the dishes. I was able to paint some part of the baby's room in CT, too (that was fun). Hmm... I wonder if they'd need some hot tub covers. The house is a work in progress, but it's really homey there now. I'd say I am feeling better now. Still moving like a log but at least better than the previous week. But oh, I still should NOT sneeze. |
