Make up your mind, Haring Araw!
Thursday, 19 February 2009

I woke up with the glaring morning sun. It's a good day, I thought.

I wanted to do something today. Stretch some muscles, that is.

I was done with waxing the floor the other day, done with dusting and cleaning the glass table and the huge mirror. What else can I possibly do outside the comfort of my room? Hmm... I think I'll polish some furniture and wipe the leather seats later. Then I can work on the bathroom tonight. *squeak-squeak*

It's a good day! I've got a lot of things lined up today.

I've a banner to do for Divisoria.com, a logo to conceptualize, another movie to watch (1997's As Good as it Gets, with Jack Nicholson and Helen Hunt in it), a few books to read (I'm reading Twisted 8 by Jessica Zafra and I'm still on If The Pasta Wiggles, Don't Eat It by Martha Bolton-- they're completely opposite books, more of essays, but the difference kind of balances my thinking. Add Og Mandino's Great Trilogy on the list of my daily read), and oh, did you know that I am not into reading the news? I realized that when my SIL told me something that I was completely unaware of (yeah, the world is coming to an end and I remain incognizant!). So there, I told myself, since I have the luxury of time here, being jobless and all, I'd have to try to catch up on what's going on outside my snow globe. Let's see... where should I start? The showbiz page? LOL! If it weren't for my SIL and my niece, I wouldn't even know about the death of Rustom Padilla and the birth of BB Gandanghari. I have got to get a grip on current events, huh?!

I have to make up my mind what goes first. I can't ride on the sun's trip today -- now you see it, now you don't-- what's wrong with yah Haring Araw? Don't be gloomy today. Or at least send some flurries so I can shovel some snow again.

Remind me, I have to call a relative tonight in my mom's request (isn't it rude to call someone again when you've already left a message on their machine?). She told my mom that she might give me a baby-sitting job somewhere while I wait for my employer. Well, my employer said he'd give me an update on Friday night. Wait.. is it Thursday today? *wink*

I'll be five months here on the 21st. It's my Kuya's birthday, too!

Two years and seven more months and my H1B visa is up. Not bad, eh? Time flies. If you think I haven't done anything at all during my five months here, read back from the day that I set my foot at the JFK Airport.

Right, I haven't done what I came for here, which is to go back to the corporate world, by the way. That brings me to what other people tell me, to enjoy my free time, do whatever I want because when my time comes that I have to work, I will miss taking vacation and all. I'm not saying they're wrong. Maybe I will miss these days that I don't have to wake up early and travel to work and back home. But that's what I came for here-- to work! I could have fun anywhere and anytime I want. That's life. At least that's how I see it.

Now, back to work. First, the banner. Yeah. I've made up my mind.

Who says I am bumming around, anyway?
