"Grandma, do you want me to read something for you?" "Thanks but no dear. You get something for you. You'll get fat in no time." "Uhh..." (That wasn't food I'm talking about. Say it again, Mae.) "I'm reading some of your husband's writing." "That's nice." "Yeah. Good stuff." "He is a good writer." "I'm going to read one for you tomorrow." "All right. That'll be nice." I am looking forward to it. Brings me back to the good old days of my poetry reading at some resto/bar in Quezon City. My only mistake then was, I read my own work. There's no thrill in interpreting your own work. |
