Just A Peso
Thursday, 20 December 2007

One time I was walking with a friend, when a one-peso coin fell from my purse.

The one-peso coin stopped in the middle of the road.

My friend stopped as well, as if waiting for me to decide,

Then she asked,  "Are you going to pick it up?"

"Naah... it's just a one-peso coin. Forget about it."
Silently, I wished someone who needs it more than I needed it that day
would be able to pick it up (I always do that when I lose something)

It's not that I don't need it, I just don't feel like running after it
and picking it up in the middle of the road.
"It's just a one-peso coin..."

One day, I was on a tricycle-ride home when a passenger, in her rude manner,
threw her fare to the driver.

A one-peso coin fell...

The driver went to find it.

I was going home.
I wasn't in a hurry.
Altho' I hated that rude passenger,
I didn't care about that one-peso coin.

But I was glad he found it.

I was really glad he did.
