I succumbed to two temptations today.
Monday, 16 June 2008

One. I must have eaten 1/4 kilo of Green Tomato's Shrimp Feta (spaghetti) at lunch today. Just when I promised myself I'd go for the greens from now on, JS and I went to Shangri-la and heard myself saying, "Green Tomato! I haven't tried this resto. And they serve pizza-pasta!"

So in, we go.

And just when I assumed that we'd share on my choice of pasta, he ordered another one. So there goes my (un)controlled carbo-intake my dear readers. I can't say no to pasta. Or cheese. Needless to say, I can't say no to tomato-based pasta with cheese. Uhh.. maybe I could. But not today. Not when I had the opportunity to try on a restaurant for the first time (it was my first time at Green Tomato). Moderation. That word was scratched out from my vocabulary today.

... and so with the word "control", which would bring us to my next weakness.

Two. Jughead's Double Digest Magazine, which is now worth Php110 each.

While JS was inside the Watch Repair center, I excused myself out to check on the magazine stand at the hallway. I had no plan on buying anything. I don't need a magazine. I don't need anything there. I just want to check on some magazines. What's new and what's hot. I didn't want any until I saw Jughead sitting on a hammock with his dog. I grabbed the copy, read the cover and put it back to its stand. Then I went around and checked on the other magazines. Then I went back to Jughead. Then put it back again to check on some more of the other magazines. PC Magazine, Mac Magazine, FHM, Cosmopolitan, Hello Magazine, MyHome, Turbo Magazine, and many more. Then JS came to check on the magazines too and bought one (I think that was a Digital Photography mag). When the girl handed him his copy, I said, "Wait. I'm getting one too."

And there goes the word "control", by the way.

You can ask me to accompany anyone who'd go for a shopping spree and I would be able to go home empty-handed. But never leave me standing on a magazine stand/kiosk. Never inside a bookstore. I seldom leave those places empty-handed. And today is one of those days I left with something on my hand.

Today, I am weak. No. Make that two-times weak.
