I have the license to move on now.
Wednesday, 17 December 2008

"Wow! You did well, huh?", the man at the MVC office said when he saw the result of my written/computerized exam. Finally, I can have a "lollipop" for passing the exam. Hah! State laws in driving? Sisiw! Tawagin ko ba naman lahat ng Santo at Santa kagabi at kaninang umaga bago kami umalis ng bahay ni Kuya! *teasing*

Was I really ready to take the exam again this morning? No. And I don't think I will ever be ready with my study habit (zzzZZZ). All I was thinking was "I have to get it over and done with," and I have to pass the exam and get a permit to drive around here. I went over the whole manual twice, highlighted some keywords, tried to memorize a little (uhh... what's that again?!). And prayed really hard. Nasa Diyos ang awa, nasa tao ang gawa. In my case, I have put everything in God's hand. Even asked all the Angels to gather around me while I am taking the exam, asked them to whisper the answers so I can pass. I guess some whispers were so soft that I didn't get the correct answer for some questions. *heh-heh* But I did it anyhow and couldn't keep myself from smiling when I handed my form to the guy at the counter. It was hard getting a grip of yourself when you're truly happy and so grateful at that.

I had two prayers before I left for my exam: One, that I pass the exam. I didn't want to go out of that office feeling disappointed and feeling "dumb" again for not passing such exam. I hated that feeling. Two, that getting an actual road test would be waived for me if I show them my Philippine (Non-professional) Driver's License. Meaning, instead of giving me a permit to drive, they should give me a license so that I could drive (or practice driving) around here with minimal or without supervision of a licensed driver. And of course, getting the driver's license instead of the permit would mean, saving my time both at work and my future studies. Plus, I can keep myself sane, without having to worry about the actual road test where an instructor would judge the way you drive. That has frightened me. So I prayed.

And you guessed it right! Both prayers were answered! Thank God! I passed the written/computerized exam and they waived my actual road test. And after paying $19.50 at the cashier, they handed me my driver's license! Yey!

Uhh... Only problem is, I couldn't drive (a little of "I shouldn't", I guess). Not yet.

But at least, now that I am worry-free about getting a driver's license here, I can move on to my next task now-- some serious Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)! There's more but I have decided to concentrate on this one for now.
