| Hurricane Irene Panic. |

I came from a tropical country-- the Philippines-- where it is hot and humid half of the year; the other half it's raining. Typhoons are not new to me. And they said, winds from a typhoon are usually stronger than a hurricane. So I just shrug my shoulder when I see how people in the U.S. are reacting with the coming hurricane, Irene. (M and I went to buy a bottle of unsweetened apple juice and waited in line for half an hour. People are panic-buying. M was irritated; I almost grabbed the Honeywell Barcode Scanner to entertain him). But a part of me knows and believes that Uncle Sam is just right. We should not underestimate Mother Nature. Prevent rather than cure. Be proactive. Thousands of people in NYC are being evacuated. Some places have mandatory evacuation. Government has provided evacuation centers (such as schools) already. They have distributed more than 7-thousand sandbags, too. Transportation, such as buses, subways, and trains are being suspended. Everything that can be controlled is being controlled. As of this writing, I am in Long Island, where they said, could be hit my the rage of hurricane Irene. Category 1 is 74-95mph. There's no way out now; and there's nowhere to go. But I am a believer and I have my faith. This is just another day. An ordinary day. Just a busy one at the animal hospital. Well, animals were being evacuated here, too. |
