I have said a while ago how my mom is, right now, hooked to alternative medicines. It's good. I, honestly, personally believe in this practice. I remember, as a child, how my mom would make us drink the juice of oregano leaves when we're coughing. And no matter how bad it tasted, we're taking it. But you know what, they worked. But I think that gave me a good foundation on "herbal" plants. My Science teacher had this book about plants and grass/weeds (that we usually see around us) and their medicinal uses. I remember browsing through that book and I remember really liking it.
When I started working, I instead of oregano, I drink the juice of bittersweet melon (ampalaya) leaves when I am coughing really hard. It was only lately that I thought about the what-if(s) of having an allergy on certain herbs or plants (could austin allergist help? I guess so). Then again, I realized, every person has different reaction on what we take-in even on conventional medicines.
