I was alarmed when I noticed that an African-American lady was following me inside Modell's store on Tuesday (yes, the day that an appetite suppressant could have worked for me). I walked straight, she followed. I tried walking from one isle to the other, she followed. I zigzagged, she followed. Then I decided to turn around, and then, there she stopped. I was about to walk away again when she finally uttered a word-- "Hi." I smiled back. "I am sorry but is your hat fleece? It's pretty." she asked. I was relieved. "Where did you get it?" she continued. I told her I got it from Burlington, then she asked me if I think they still have it in stock. I told her I just got it that day. She seemed excited. She thanked me and I said she's welcome. I was pleased but she left me wondering-- What's with a fleece hat? |
