I am Mae German. 34 years old. Born in Mangatarem, province of Pangasinan. I was taught and trained by Juan Dela Cruz, and I am currently being trained for more by Uncle Sam. Writing since the age of 12. Blogging since 2001. I keep a notebook and a pen in my bag, on my bedside table, and inside the bathroom. Misses a lot. Sometimes even my own voice. Loves to laugh. Sometimes even at myself. I am a work in progress. My ultimate dream is to be a SAHM. That is, if I am bound to have that chance in this lifetime... and I am.
My Traffic Rules
Don't take my words personally. At times, not even literally. This is my journal. You're my reader. My spectator. Applaud. Yawp. Yawn. Smile. Frown. Rave. Rant. Or not. Neither can I see you from where I am standing nor can I hear you.
This is not my life. Maybe just a part of it. But this is me meandering through life. My emotions fluctuate. My opinion varies. If it's too hot in here and you can't take it, leave. If it's dull and too cold, go somewhere else for warmth. I won't wipe the frown on your brow.
My stories, unless stated otherwise, are mostly fictional. Fiction could be based on reality. Still, they are fiction. Don't own it. Don't live in it. It is what it is. Leave it.
Watch out for the traffic light. Follow the rules. Cruise.
I have said this before, I'm saying it again: Kudos to the organizers of the UST-EHS 2008 Grand Reunion. I know it wasn't easy handling such huge event (batch 1971, was our host this year). Although it wasn't perfect, I have seen the effort and the immense support from everyone and that, I could say, made the event more meaningful.
With Cheng (batch 1996) & Ria.
We were just two from our batch (1994) but Ria and I had a great time bonding with every people that we have known (first) online and in person. Ria wasn't able to make it for Day 1 and Day 2 but she flew from Doha to join us for Day 3, the Gala Night. I was really happy that she made it. From the time that I picked her up from her place in Sampaloc (Manila) we became inseparable (together with Ate Shirley, of batch 1975, whose hotel room at the Holiday Inn became a headquarter for most of us-- thank you Ate Shirley.)
Day 3 was a nerve-wrecking day for most of us (especially for the organizers). Dada Glenn's (of batch 1971) PC gave in and the projector was malfunctioning. Good that the files were saved in DVDs. We had to try using my macbook in lieu of Dada's PC. Unfortunately, we've found out that I have no connector for an old projector (macbook has a mini DVI port). We both ran to the mall and looked for an external DVD-ROM from every computer store that we see. Luckily, we found one that costs Php3000. That saved the day.
There was supposed to be a live broadcasting but Crowne Plaza failed to give us a WiFi connection (as they have promised). It was disappointing not just for Dada, who has prepared and set up everything for the said event, but for everyone else who weren't able to join us, hoping they'd be able to watch the whole happening (live!). *sigh*
Anyhow, all's well that ends well...
I could blog all night about the behind-the-scenes of the night's event but I have to rest now. All I know is that I am definitely looking forward to the next one (next year?!).
