La Mesa Eco Park (loading...)

It's a luncheon at La Mesa Ecopark (located in East Fairview Subdivision, Quezon City). I had to wake up early as I am residing in Makati and the carpool will be coming from Sampaloc (Manila) area. Pick-up point is in Quezon Avenue (it won't be a good idea to be fetched in this area at night, buti na lang umaga! LOL!) Thanks Ta Pi and Papa Jimini for the ride.

I was excited. It's the second day of the alumni homecoming and it's my first time to visit La Mesa Ecopark. I have heard a lot of good reviews of the place plus a lot of photo ops were being done there. In fact, there was a group of photographers wandering around the area when we got there (I envy their weapons! Even saw one with macro lens! Shhheeessh! I love macro shots! Details! Details! and more details!).

The event was fun. The food was great (especially the leche flan-- I think I had one whole for myself. Yummy!). I had to burn some calories and check out the place so I snuck away from the group while they were having a program (thanks to Cheng for taking the camera from me hehehe).

From our rented space (Ipil Pavilion), I paved the way to the Butterfly Trail & Hatchery where I was kinda disappointed to pay Php30 just to see the butterflies with worn-out wings (prolly because you're allowed to catch and touch them). One kid even came to me to show me his catch (holding the butterfly tightly on its wings *ouch*).

I wasn't able to check on every facility because as I have said I sneaked out from the group but according to the park map, I didn't miss a lot. But this I have to tell you, visit the place while it is on its peak beauty because judging from the leniency of the park administrators, I am worried of the preservation of such park.

Oopppsss... the event.

When I came back from my "hiram na sandali" with nature, the program was almost finished. I guess I should have changed my subject from Getting To Know You to Getting to Know La Mesa Ecopark, eh?! I was such an anti-social today. That I cannot deny.
