Grrr... I was supposed to catch some zzzZs today. Instead, I spent half of my day trying to figure out a new bus route from Metuchen to South Plainfield to cut off my almost 2-hour travel time going and coming from Jersey City. NJ Transit's website is useless. See the pink lines that I did on the map? I was actually trying to connect every bus stops of bus-819 (Metuchen to Piscataway) and bus-810 (Metuchen to New Brunswick). I need to get a later bus in the afternoon and some alternate ride, too.
Bus-819's last trip from Metuchen is at 6:32pm. If I miss that, I will have to disturb the world to pick me up or I will have to walk more than 3 miles just to get home. So far, there's no solution to my dilemma. Argh!
Hmmm... should check if there's a free application like MapQuest for Pammy. Just in case I miss my bus ride, at least I would know which roads to take-- to walk on I mean. *Hehe* Hey! It's easier to wander outside now. I could experiment on my routes at last. Winter is over!
And still on buses...
I tried to experiment on my bus ride in Staten Island last Friday but the driver of bus-x10 (East Manhattan route) said I should only take bus-s62. Haayy... It could cut off five or six minutes of my walking time pa naman sana when I am not in the mood to walk half a mile. I guess God says I should stick to the only exercise I have right now, which is walking, eh?! No problem. Nagbakasakali lang naman ako. LOL! I love to walk, in fact. I walked half a mile on Friday morning and it was snowing. Sir A called me while I was crossing a bridge in Bayonne.
"Where are you? Natabunan ka na ba ng nyebe?" they said I should call them if I want to be fetched from my bus stop.
Don't worry, people. No need that day. The only thing that has bothered me then was my frozen hands. Apparently, I have lost all my gloves. And yes, I need to buy a decent jacket that would really give me warmth while walking. Next winter time, I will be fully-geared. Hah!
And on buses still...
I don't really know how much I spend on my transportation. The last time I checked, it was less than a hundred bucks for a week. So I thought...
From South Plainfield to Jersey City, my rides would have to be 1 bus-819 ride from South Plainfield to Metuchen ($2.15), a train ride from Metuchen to Newark Penn Station ($5.50), a PATH ride from Newark Penn to Journal Square ($1.75), and a bus-10 ride from Journal Square to Kennedy Blvd. in Jersey City ($1.45). That's a total of $21.70/day. Ouch! That's not less than a hundred bucks a week! But since Ate Roda or Kuya is dropping me off to Metuchen Rail Station every morning, I am saving $2.15 each day. That's where I got the less-than-a-hundred-buck idea I guess. It's $97.75/week. *Hehe*
From Staten Island to Jersey City, my rides would have to be 1 bus-s62 ride from Woolley Ave. to Victory Blvd. ($2.00) and a transfer to bus-s89 from Victory Blvd. to Bayonne (free within two hours of my first bus ride), then a bus-10 from 32nd Street to the Kennedy Blvd. ($2.10) for a total of $8.20/day.
Oh well, maybe someday I can afford to rent a space somewhere near the office. Errr.. wherever that office will be. Heh-heh. No real job yet, remember? And I am only earning $100 a week right now. Do the math on how much is left in my pocket given the numbers above.
Still not complaining anyhow. It is better than wearing my pajama each day and feeling useless and dead to the world. I am just really grateful that I am doing a lot of things while (still) trying to penetrate into something. I am keeping my faith and am grateful for His ways in providing me what I need to survive right now. For those people who have blessed my life from Day 1 to present, THANK YOU.
I did something a little worthwhile naman today. I was able to put into use what I learned from printer-sharing using the available WiFi connection at Camp German. Yey! We can now print without bringing down our laptops to the basement and directly connecting the printer to our gadget, provided that the desktop is on. It was actually a very simple set up that I was lazy to try before. It's worth-doing it now.
Anything is worth-doing now. But yeah, I gotta catch some zzzZZZs first before I start working on the four tasks written in my notebook, else creative juice will run dry fast again. Even superhuman gets tired, y'ah know!
