Online status updates, blogs, chatrooms, instant messaging, text alert systems... This generation and the future have lots to brag about when it comes to high-tech means of (mass) communication. Heck, I can even talk to my friend who looks like me in FarmTown or FarmVille (they ought to add some shops in the market, not all farmers look the same). There are even gifts and cards that you can send online just by one click. I wonder what is next. I could say, follow me in Twitter. But nope, I just turned mine off.
I still believe in the power of longhand writing, of snail mail, of gifts that doesn't cost one too much but were given after a serious contemplation. But hey, I sent my mom some photos and some of my works three weeks ago. Francis (with mom in the background) and I chatted the other day, they said they haven't got anything in the mail. Phew! Patience. I even bought two phonecards, both did not work. Bleh! And we thought the world is changing. Well, maybe the virtual world. And I would say, it is getting better. Which reminds me, I have to remind someone to apply for a debit card in the Philippines to be sent to my mom, so I can make all my money-transfer online. PayPal is my pal!
