You want to get "high"? Take in caffeine. I just woke up from an hour or two nap. It's late in the afternoon and I know I shouldn't be drinking any coffee this late, else, it will keep me up later tonight. But I need something to keep me "high." Wikipedia describes caffeine as a psychoactive stimulant; psychoactive, being a chemical substance that crosses the blood–brain barrier and acts primarily upon the central nervous system where it affects brain function, resulting in changes in perception, mood, consciousness, cognition, and behavior. Mind the word "behavior." Each one has a different level of tolerance with caffeine (sometimes coffee's effect on me is I get sleepy and sluggish), sometimes apples do the trick on me. There's no caffeine in apples; but a medium-sized apple may contain 19grams of sugar (a healthy way to get sugar-high). So yes, I'd choose apple at this time of day. But if you ask me about some diet pills that work, I'd say anything which has high caffeine-content. Simply because they would keep you up and push you to move. *wink* |
