A Fool Before April Fools' Day
Monday, 31 March 2008

I can't believe I was gullible tonight because of my ice-cream craving. When a friend said we could go out after his conference at the hospital near my place, I started dreaming of a pint of Pan de Manila's cheesy ice cream. I tried to work some more on my project while waiting for his go-signal but couldn't really concentrate. I was imagining a pint of cheesy ice cream. So I got my hot rollers and played with my hair instead (I haven't perfected putting the pin, eh), did a scrap, read some emails, chat at YM, and took out my shirt and pants for the night while waiting for my hair to be done.

At around 10pm, my friend texted me, the conference was over. Without a word, without asking him if he's going to pick me up, or if we're still pushing thru with the plan, I got ready. My hair was half-cooked but I said it's okay, I could practice again next time. At a little past 11pm, RSB was asking me where my friend is coming from, she's wondering why I was still at home chatting with her when I said I am going out tonight. It was 11:22pm when I received the message that we can't go out tonight.

*Puff!* There goes my balloon with a cheesy ice cream in it. I ended up eating the last piece of waffle cone in my apartment. I tried to imagine that there's at least a scoop of ice cream-- cheese flavor-- on top. I can't believe I almost bought the idea of having a pint tonight. *arrgghhh* It wasn't his fault, it's my craving!

"It's hard to deal with physicians, you know," I think D tried to console me, "they could drop you or forget about you when duty calls-- emergency?" she continued.

I was laughing when she said that. First, I was really craving for an ice cream that I was making fun of myself while I was eating the waffle cone. Second, I am not dating (read: that's not my idea of a date). Three, cancellation of tonight's plan was not because of an emergency-- he was tired... er... sleepy. I forgot, among my friends, I am the only one who has a weird sleeping habit (I could sleep any time I want and wake up any time I want)-- at least for the meantime.

Oh well, have you tried Pan de Manila's ice creams? You should, so you'll know why I acted this way tonight. I got carried away. I'll get my pint soon if not tomorrow. *wink*
