I attended my cousin's wedding and I was shocked to hear me say "ang hirap pala magpakasal!" and what's worse was I also told myself that I don't want that kind of wedding. Well, who would want a wedding where it started almost two hours after the said time? The bride's gown was unfit and they needed to repair it on the spot. Visitors were bored to death when the bride arrived. Too many tables and chairs, unoccupied. Too dim lights. The ceremony was held by someone who never mentioned what sect he is from yet he told everyone that he was supposed to be a priest. He didn't even read a single scripture from the bible. Neither he is a judge. But in fairness, I like what he told the bride and groom, the godparents, the parents, and of course, us, the visitors. Well, enough about him. I tried concentrating on the bride and groom instead. In fact I acted as their camera man. I took video (my worst skill). I tried focusing on both of their faces and somehow hoping to catch their emotions. Hmmm... Did I see a get-it-over-with face or I-hope-this-party-ends-soon faces? I don't know...maybe I just didn't really enjoy the celebration. But I'm not really the one who should be enjoying the occasion, right? Whatever. I like my wedding to be simple and well-coordinated. Of course, wedding is the bride's and groom's day. But I would like my guests to enjoy, too. And I'm sure you will agree with me.
