It's been almost 2 years since I last went to the gym: used the treadmill and the cross-trainer, lifted some weights and did real stretching. The old gym in Dusit Hotel had set my standard in a gym hence I never considered enrolling myself in a gym if it's not in a hotel (arte ba?! wehehe). So when D has told me about one of their members willing to transfer her membership on Red Corner Fitness & Boxing Club, I raised my hand at once and grabbed it. It's in Holiday Inn!
That was just my simple plan last Saturday: fix my membership, re-orient myself, get to know the equipments again, work out, use the sauna, and off to my badminton games in Greenhills--- that should be it. Not until VB came, asking me how much I am willing to commit on my work out. He's a newly grad (physical therapist) and he works for the gym only on weekends. The rest of the week, he's free. I don't need a personal trainer but my instinct says I should get him as my PT. Again, getting a PT is never in my plan. It will be an extra "cash out" in every session. But I just had to listen to my instinct.
"You're not programming here. I am doing your program," he joked around when he learned about my job. He's nice. Jolly and funny sometimes. And yes, he will be my PT for at least 4 months (my membership is until the end of August only and I am not sure if I could still keep up for another year). He's willing to adjust on my schedule especially on weekdays when my schedule is mostly erratic.
Still undecided if I should try boxing, too, as they have all the amenities there (boxing ring, punching bags, etc.). It's just too much if I buy myself a pair of boxing gloves (isa pa, baka ma-adik na naman ako!).
Anyway, for a booster, I will be keeping a record here. Let's see how I improve.
Week 1, Day 1: I am 107 lbs.
*ouch*
Muscles are aching now due to the extreme stretching that we did on Saturday, but it felt good. I didn't know I missed the gym so much until I sat inside the sauna. I think I should install one in my own house... if I have one. *tee hee* Dream on, Mae!
