I was asleep practically the whole Sunday that when it was about time to move and get ready for work this morning, came the realization that I am, indeed, a corporate slave.

My brother once asked me what kind of business (small business opportunities) that he could invest on here in the Philippines. I said, a restaurant (Filipinos love to eat) or maybe a coffee shop (as it is a fad). Franchised or... is it safe to take a risk to start or create our own business? What am I saying? Using the word "safe" with the word "risk". It's a risk hence it is either safe or not and the only time we'll know it is in the end. But then again there are what we call feasibility studies.

Anyhow, that was three or four years ago. We never talked about business again after that. They have probably settled good in the U.S. and I am sure, soon, they will decide whether to settle for good or not. Well, what's good for one may not be good for some; what's nice for some may not be nice for the others. To each his own, here, I am saying it again.

Having a business of your own could be an escape for anyone, but not for everyone. I hope I have my way to know my fate in that area.
